Dark Chocolate Holiday Truffles

This recipe is super simple & is a fun way to stay involved during the holidays when everyone is baking cookies or giving away baked goods as gifts. Place truffles in mini cupcake liners to box up & give as gifts or to bring to a holiday party! Keep the toppings gluten-free for yourself, and add other toppings (like graham cracker crumbs or cookie crumbs) for those you plan to give away!

Dark Chocolate Holiday Truffles

Ingredients:
8oz. semi-sweet or dark chocolate
1/3 cup heavy cream
toppings of your choice!
ex. coconut flakes, red sprinkles, powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar

Directions:
Chop chocolate into pieces to allow to melt faster. Set aside. Put heavy cream into a small saucepan and simmer until edges begin to bubble but not boil. Remove from heat and add in the chocolate, stirring until it is completely melted and mixed in. Pour into a small bowl & refrigerate 1-3 hours or until it is firm.
Then, take a melon scooper (a teaspoon may work too) and scoop out balls, roll once or twice to perfect (it quickly melts if you handle it too much). Roll into the topping of your choice and place on a plate. Once done, place the plate of truffles in the fridge until you're ready to gift them/take them to a party/eat them all yourself!
